Chapter 7: Let's have a fight

At home....filming....

Live streaming...the entire time...

Install cameras...

With each word Lu Yiwei said, Mu Zhengqing’s brow furrowed a bit more.

Actually, giving all his assets to Lu Yiwei wasn’t impossible. After all, he was still young and could earn more.

At most, he would just retire a few years later.

After convincing himself, Mu Zhengqing said to Lu Yiwei, “Let’s go, we’re going to the Civil Affairs Bureau now.”

“Why are we going to the Civil Affairs Bureau?” Lu Yiwei asked, puzzled.

“To get a divorce. After the divorce, we’ll go to the bank, and I’ll transfer the money to you,” Mu Zhengqing said through gritted teeth.

Who would have thought that after all these years of hard work, he was essentially working for Lu Yiwei.

If he had known earlier, he wouldn’t have worked so hard these past few years.

“I suddenly remembered I have something important I need to do. I’ll be back soon,” Lu Yiwei suddenly said.

“You…”

Before Mu Zhengqing could finish his sentence, Lu Yiwei hurriedly left.

Watching Lu Yiwei’s back, he felt like he was fleeing in panic.

Ten minutes later, Lu Yiwei stood in front of Mu Zhengqing again.

“Let’s go, there’s still time,” Mu Zhengqing said.

“It’s too late,” Lu Yiwei stood still.

“If you don’t believe me, we can go to the bank first to transfer the money, and then go to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get a divorce,” Mu Zhengqing said, looking at Lu Yiwei.

“The production team just posted an official announcement on Weibo. You can’t back out of the variety show now,” Lu Yiwei said cautiously.

Hearing what Lu Yiwei said, Mu Zhengqing quickly took out his phone and opened Weibo.

After one minute, Weibo wouldn’t load.

After five minutes, Weibo still wouldn’t load.

After ten minutes, Weibo was still not loading.

Because it wouldn’t load, Mu Zhengqing believed Lu Yiwei’s words.

The news about him and Lu Yiwei participating in a divorce variety show was released, and it was normal for Weibo to crash.

“The urgent matter you mentioned was to remind the production team to post the official announcement on Weibo?” Mu Zhengqing asked Lu Yiwei with a threatening look.

“Yes,” Lu Yiwei didn’t dare to look Mu Zhengqing in the eyes this time.

He knew Mu Zhengqing could guess it, and he knew Mu Zhengqing would be angry after guessing it, but he had to do it.

Because he knew that if he didn’t do something, there would really be no chance for the two of them.

“Let’s have a fight,” Mu Zhengqing said to Lu Yiwei while rolling up his sleeves.

“Okay, but can we avoid hitting the face?” Lu Yiwei asked.

It wasn’t that he cared much about his face, but he would be spending a lot of time with Mu Zhengqing in the near future.

If other methods didn’t work, using his looks  was also within his consideration.

“Alright, let’s start.”

After Mu Zhengqing finished speaking, he clenched his fist and aimed at Lu Yiwei’s stomach.

Although he was 4 cm shorter than the 187 cm tall Lu Yiwei, he didn’t think he would lose.

Previously, he had specifically learned Sanda for self-defence.

Despite his seemingly frail appearance, his muscles were always the envy of Gu Da.

Gu Da always said that he looked slim in clothes but muscular without them, with strong but not exaggerated muscles that everyone would want to have.

Although Gu Da exaggerated a bit, at least it showed he wasn’t just a pretty face.

When Mu Zhengqing was just one centimetre away from Lu Yiwei’s stomach, he stopped his hand.

“Why didn’t you dodge?” Mu Zhengqing asked, looking at Lu Yiwei.

“I did something wrong, I don’t deserve to dodge,” Lu Yiwei answered seriously.

“Boring, hurry up and leave, just seeing you makes me angry.”

Mu Zhengqing, annoyed, withdrew his hand. He sat on the sofa, feeling around for a while to find his familiar plush toy in vain, and glared at Lu Yiwei.

He didn’t have a habit of hitting people; the reason he wanted to fight Lu Yiwei was because he was really angry.

“I’ll go back and cook first. I’ll call you when it’s ready,” Lu Yiwei said before leaving.

“Who wants to eat your cooking? Hurry up and leave, if you don’t go now, I really will hit you,” Mu Zhengqing threatened, raising his fist.

Author’s Note: Yes, this is where it ends. It is a very small chapter.

T/N: paraphrasing here, but the author flubbed the deadline and submitted whatever she had on hand. The chapter is about one-third of the others (I had to go through 4 different raw sites to make sure, because I thought it was a page error). Please take note that next chapters will go back to normal length.

Chapter 6: Live in your house or live in my house

“Why are you looking at me?” Gu Da noticed Mu Zhengqing looking at him and asked in confusion.

Mu Zhengqing withdrew his gaze and turned back to his own home.

He was increasingly suspicious that Lu Yiwei and Gu Da were in cahoots.

“Then I’ll leave too…”

“Wait a moment.”

Before Gu Da could finish his sentence, he was interrupted by Lu Yiwei, who came out of the room carrying a large box and said, “Please give this to him.”

Although Lu Yiwei didn’t mention a name, both of them knew who “he” referred to.

“Can I ask why you are participating in the divorce variety show with him?” Having figured out what was going on, Gu Da couldn’t help but ask after taking the box.

If the news of Lu Yiwei participating in a variety show got out, it would stay on the trending list for at least a week.

His situation was different from Mu Zhengqing’s. Mu Zhengqing often held concerts and participated in commercial activities, so fans had plenty of opportunities to see him.

But Lu Yiwei was different. He was either on set or on his way to the set every day. Apart from TV dramas and movies, it was rare for fans to see him in person, let alone participate in variety shows.

“Haven’t you always wanted him to participate in variety shows?” Lu Yiwei didn’t answer Gu Da’s question but asked in return.

“I did want him to participate in variety shows, but I never thought about him having to join a divorce variety show. You should think it through. Once the show releases the news, your relationship won’t be hidden anymore.” Gu Da said, looking at Lu Yiwei.

He wanted to find something in Lu Yiwei’s expression.

But to his disappointment, Lu Yiwei didn’t give him that chance.

As expected of a film emperor, his expression management was flawless.

“I never intended to hide our relationship.” Gu Da mumbled to himself as he returned with the large box, repeating what Lu Yiwei had said to him. [T/N: because I was confused as well, Gu Da is quoting Lu Yiwei here]

Not hiding, huh? It seems to be true.

Lu Yiwei was known as the number one anti-rumour person in the entertainment industry. Whenever there was a rumour about him, he would clarify or explain it immediately.

Over time, fewer people dared to mess with him. After all, no matter how thick-skinned they were, it still hurt to get into a fight.

As for that actress last time, she was just relying on the backing of her sponsor. But her outcome should give Lu Yiwei some peace for a long time.

Thinking carefully, the few times Lu Yiwei remained silent seemed to be related to Mu Zhengqing.

Of course, even if he didn’t say anything, the paparazzi had already stamped that there was no connection between Mu Zhengqing and Lu Yiwei.

In the end, their relationship wasn’t hidden well by them, but rather the paparazzi weren’t competent enough.

Even if the evidence was placed in front of them, they would think it was fake.

Paparazzi OS: Who would have thought that two people with only work in their eyes would get married? With their work intensity, even if they got married, they would end up divorced.

Gu Da OS: You finally got it right this time. They are indeed getting divorced.

“Here, this is from Lu Yiwei.” Gu Da said, placing the box in front of Mu Zhengqing.

“Take it away, I don’t want anything from him,” Mu Zhengqing snapped angrily.

Although he chose his entire fortune over not participating in the divorce variety show, that didn’t mean he wasn’t angry. He could only comfort himself.

Isn’t it unfair that no one knew about their marriage, but everyone knows about the divorce? Since Lu Yiwei didn’t care, why should he?

Moreover, even if he got married and divorced, it wouldn’t have much impact on his career.

Although he is an idol, his fan base is different from other idols. Most of his fans are career fans or appearance fans. As long as his professional skills don’t decline and his looks remain, his empire will still stand.

Career Fans OS: We initially wanted to be girlfriend fans, but soon realised it was just our wishful thinking, and eventually, we didn’t even dare to think about it.

Appearance Fans OS: We initially aimed to be girlfriend fans, but soon realised that a workaholic can only be admired from afar and not toyed with.

The reason Mu Zhengqing didn’t want to participate in the divorce variety show was simply that he didn’t want his love life to be a topic of gossip.

He hoped that when people evaluated him, they would talk about how stunning his performances were, not about whom he married and divorced.

Hmm, self-comfort was useful, but it only kept him from beating up Lu Yiwei.

“Aren’t you curious about what’s inside?” Gu Da tempted.

Whether Mu Zhengqing was curious or not, Gu Da didn’t know, but he was quite curious himself.

When Lu Yiwei was holding it, it didn’t seem heavy, but who knew it would be so heavy when he got it. If he hadn’t been distracted thinking about other things, he would have already fallen to the ground with the box.

“I’m not curious. Just take it away. Lu Yiwei’s things are not welcome here,” Mu Zhengqing said nonchalantly.

Well, actually, he was curious. Such a big box, who knows what Lu Yiwei put inside.

But no matter how curious he was, he didn’t plan to open it. He knew the principle of not accepting favours lightly.

No matter what Lu Yiwei gave him today, he wouldn’t…

“Let me see before you take it away…”

Gu Da had just opened the box and hadn’t had a chance to see what was inside when Mu Zhengqing blocked him.

“Leave the box, you can go.” Mu Zhengqing said, placing his hand on the box.

Hmm, no matter what Lu Yiwei gave him today, he wouldn’t return it, Mu Zhengqing silently added in his heart.

“What’s in the box that made you change your mind so quickly?” Seeing Mu Zhengqing like this, Gu Da became even more curious about the contents of the box.

Of course, what made him most curious was what had happened between Mu Zhengqing and Lu Yiwei during his vacation. Why did the atmosphere between them feel different from before?

“You haven’t been working much lately. I think this month’s salary is unnecessary…” Mu Zhengqing said slowly.

“I’m leaving, I’m leaving right now.” As soon as he heard about the salary, Gu Da immediately interrupted Mu Zhengqing.

Bosses are so annoying, always using salary as a threat.

What made him angry was that he always fell for it.

Watching Gu Da’s departing figure, Mu Zhengqing once again marvelled at his wise decision back then.

If he hadn’t started his own studio and had signed with an entertainment company instead, he wouldn’t have such long vacations, nor would he be able to make Gu Da suffer every time.

Speaking of which, the reason he started his own studio was because of Lu Yiwei’s suggestion.

In the three years of marriage with Lu Yiwei, their contact was few and far between, but each time, Lu Yiwei could give him some inspiration.

Thinking about it this way, Lu Yiwei wasn’t a bad person. If they could always maintain this kind of…

Stop, stop, think about all your assets.

This marriage must end. Hesitating for even a second is disrespectful to money.

After Gu Da left, Mu Zhengqing immediately opened the box.

Inside the box was a complete set of computer equipment.

Of course, what he cared about wasn’t the equipment itself, but the matching skins.

Inside, there were not only panda patterns seen at Lu Yiwei’s house but also a series of patterns like little monsters, strawberry bears, and little ducks.

The texture of each skin was unbelievably good, as if it was dancing on the heartstrings of a plush toy lover.

Just as Mu Zhengqing was touching this and rubbing that, the doorbell rang.

He walked to the door in confusion and saw Lu Yiwei standing outside.

Mu Zhengqing waited for a while, and after confirming that Lu Yiwei had no intention of leaving, he opened the door and asked, “What’s up?”

He only opened the door halfway, clearly not inviting him in.

“Setting up the computer can be a bit tricky. Do you need any help?” Lu Yiwei asked enthusiastically, as if he hadn’t noticed Mu Zhengqing’s attitude.

Although Mu Zhengqing didn’t want to deal with him, he really wanted to use the soft keyboard right away.

In the end, emotion triumphed over reason.

Just installing a computer doesn’t mean I’m not angry anymore.

“Come in… Actually, go home first. I’ll message you later.” Mu Zhengqing was about to let him in but suddenly thought of something and cautiously said to Lu Yiwei.

“Okay.”

Lu Yiwei didn’t ask why he couldn’t come in now but turned and went back to his own home.

Mu Zhengqing was quite satisfied with Lu Yiwei’s tactfulness.

After Lu Yiwei left, Mu Zhengqing immediately started tidying up the living room.

He carried a bunch of plush toys to the bedroom, making three or four trips back and forth.

After taking the last plush toy to the bedroom, Mu Zhengqing collapsed on the sofa, exhausted.

For the first time in his life, he wondered if he had too many plush toys at home.

Thinking of this, he immediately ordered a few more plush toys online.

Too many? His goal was to fill the room, and this was just the beginning.

After confirming that there were no plush toys left in the living room and study, Mu Zhengqing sent a message to Lu Yiwei.

He wasn’t like Lu Yiwei, who neither wanted others to know his hobbies nor hid them well.

Lu Yiwei arrived quickly. Upon entering, he didn’t look around but went straight to the box.

“Let me do it.” Seeing Lu Yiwei pick up the box, Mu Zhengqing quickly said.

“No need, just lead the way.” Lu Yiwei said, holding the box.

Since Lu Yiwei said so, Mu Zhengqing didn’t stand on ceremony and quickly led him to the study.

Upon reaching the study, he remembered that he had only tidied up the plush toys and forgot to move the previous computer aside.

“Wait a moment, I’ll tidy up first.” Mu Zhengqing said apologetically.

“I’ll do it.” Lu Yiwei put down the box and walked over to him.

“No…”

Well, Lu Yiwei was one step ahead and picked up the monitor.

Then he was one step ahead again and picked up the computer host.

Although he was indeed at fault first, there was no need to be so diligent, making him, the host, just stand there.

With nothing to do, Mu Zhengqing decided to pour a glass of water for Lu Yiwei.

Although he was still angry, he wasn’t ungrateful.

Fair is fair, Lu Yiwei gave him things and helped with the installation, so he decided to temporarily forget about the trouble Lu Yiwei caused him.

Who knew that not only did Lu Yiwei arrive quickly, but he also set up the computer quickly.

By the time he came back with the water, Lu Yiwei had already finished setting up the computer.

“So fast, didn’t you say that installing it would be troublesome?” Mu Zhengqing asked in surprise.

“Practice makes perfect,” Lu Yiwei replied naturally.

Mu Zhengqing felt that he was too skilled, as if he installed computers for people all the time.

But he didn’t ask further, maybe Lu Yiwei really liked installing computers for people.

It seemed that he was also a considerate person.

With the computer set up, Mu Zhengqing looked at Lu Yiwei without saying a word.

His eyes seemed to say, “The job is done, so hurry up and leave.”

“Is the water for me?” Lu Yiwei asked.

“Uh… you’ve worked hard, have some water.” Mu Zhengqing was stunned for a moment, then handed the water to Lu Yiwei.

How could someone so oblivious manage to thrive in the entertainment industry? And he still claimed he had taken the wrong path.

How envious, jealous, and resentful he felt.

“Do you plan to stay at my place, or should I come to yours?” Lu Yiwei asked Mu Zhengqing after drinking the water.

“What do you mean by that? I just asked you to come in and set up the computer, nothing else. Don’t overthink it.”

Hearing Lu Yiwei’s words, Mu Zhengqing unconsciously took a step back and looked at him in shock.

Seeing his reaction, Lu Yiwei knew that Mu Zhengqing had no idea about the variety show they were about to join.

All his recent worries were for nothing, fearing that Mu Zhengqing would refuse once he found out it was a divorce show.

Lu Yiwei explained helplessly. “The early stages of ‘Stop Moving Forward’ are mainly filmed at each guest’s home. Later, the guests will be gathered together, and the entire show will be live-streamed. So, the crew will come this afternoon to install the cameras.”

Chapter 5: Put yourself in it

“Divorce is possible, but before that, you need to join me in a variety show,” Lu Yiwei said.

“Join a variety show? You never participate in variety shows,” Mu Zhengqing asked in confusion.

For the past three days, he had been thinking about what condition Lu Yiwei might propose, but he never expected that Lu Yiwei’s condition would be for him to join a variety show together.

If it weren’t for the fact that Gu Da  and Lu Yiwei weren’t familiar with each other, he would have suspected that Lu Yiwei was sent by Gu Da.

“It feels like the previous path was wrong, so I want to try a different one,” Lu Yiwei replied, looking at him.

“You took the wrong path? If you took the wrong path, then there are very few people in the world who are on the right path,” Mu Zhengqing said with some envy.

That’s right, he was actually a bit envious of Lu Yiwei.

Lu Yiwei gained fame with his first TV drama, and his first movie became the annual box office champion.

Don’t look at the fact that his current fan base is comparable to Lu Yiwei’s; that’s because he took the idol route. He doesn’t know how much of it is inflated, but he is sure that it’s much more inflated than actor Lu Yiwei’s.

Moreover, he was three years older than Lu Yiwei. When he was Lu Yiwei’s current age, he was just an unknown minor celebrity, while Lu Yiwei was already being called a powerful actor.

At 24 years old, the youngest Best Actor, and he still said he took the wrong path before. He really doesn’t plan to leave any room for others to survive.

“Yes, not only did I take the wrong path, but I also got further and further away from my goal,” Lu Yiwei said affirmatively.

“I’m very curious, what is your goal?” Mu Zhengqing asked curiously.

“You will know soon,” Lu Yiwei said, looking at Mu Zhengqing.

Seeing Lu Yiwei like this, Mu Zhengqing muttered softly, “If you don’t want to say it, then don’t say it. Why keep us in suspense?”

Through several interactions, he discovered one thing: Lu Yiwei always liked to look at him when talking to him.

Hmm, he figured out the reason for his awkwardness.

Being looked at like this, it’s strange not to feel awkward, especially when Lu Yiwei looked at him so seriously, as if he were some rare treasure.

After hearing the name of the variety show from Lu Yiwei, Mu Zhengqing confirmed that it was a slow-paced variety show.

He calculated that the variety show filming time was right after his vacation ended, so he readily agreed to Lu Yiwei’s condition.

There were reasons why he agreed so readily.

First, he didn’t want to be nagged by Gu Da all day long anymore. Although he could automatically block out his nagging, having someone who wasn’t particularly pleasant to look at hovering around you all day could still be a headache.

Second, with Lu Yiwei participating in the show with him, what did he have to worry about? Lu Yiwei wouldn’t set him up and drag himself down too, right?

However, to be on the safe side, Mu Zhengqing still signed a contract with Lu Yiwei. After the variety show ended, they would go to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get a divorce immediately.

If either party breached the contract, they would transfer all their assets to the other party.

After getting the contract, Mu Zhengqing was completely relieved.

Thinking about Lu Yiwei’s net worth, he was even a bit looking forward to Lu Yiwei breaching the contract.

After confirming his participation in the variety show, Mu Zhengqing did not immediately tell his agent.

He could already imagine Gu Da’s reaction when he found out he agreed to participate in the variety show . He still wanted to enjoy some peace and quiet during his vacation.

He delayed it until the last day of his vacation, which was the day before the variety show  recording.

Just after Mu Zhengqing finished breakfast, Gu Da  came in with a stack of materials.

“Take a look and pick one you like,” Gu Da said, placing the materials in front of Mu Zhengqing.

This time, he changed his strategy. Since talking didn’t work, he would let him choose directly.

Today, no matter what, he had to make him choose a variety show  to participate in. If Mu Zhengqing remained stubborn, he would have to resort to his ultimate skill—throwing a tantrum.

It wasn’t surprising that he was so eager to get him to join a variety show ; this matter couldn’t be delayed any longer.

Idols rely on their youth, and Mu Zhengqing was already 27 years old. If he didn’t transition soon, he would start to decline.

Variety shows  were the stepping stones.

It was truly a case of the eunuch being more anxious than the emperor (皇帝不急太監急, huáng dì bù jí tài jiàn jí).(1)

“So many options, I just started working, and you’re already enslaving me,” Mu Zhengqing said disinterestedly, hugging a stuffed toy and not moving.

“I’m not asking you to take all of them, just choose one,” Gu Da  said, stuffing a stack of materials into Mu Zhengqing’s hands.

“You’re being so agreeable this time. Is there some trap waiting for me?” Mu Zhengqing asked, looking at Gu Da with suspicion.

“Trap? What trap could I have? These are all variety shows  that are about to start airing. Hurry up and pick one,” Gu Da said, somewhat guiltily.

He was already prepared. As soon as Mu Zhengqing put down the materials, he would start his performance—first throwing a tantrum, then rolling on the ground. If that didn’t work, he would resort to crying, making a fuss, and threatening to hang himself.

But what he didn’t expect was that Mu Zhengqing started looking through the materials with great interest.

This wasn’t right. This was very wrong.

Having forgotten to tell his agent that he had already decided to participate in a variety show, Mu Zhengqing planned to give him a surprise.

He also wanted to see what kind of variety show  he was about to join.

That’s right, when he said he was on vacation, he really took a vacation and didn’t do any work-related things.

Stop Moving Forward,” Mu Zhengqing read slowly from the materials in his hand.

“This one won’t do. It’s not suitable for you,” Gu Da said.

Seeing the materials in Mu Zhengqing’s hands, Gu Da  quickly snatched them away and said, “Why is it not suitable for me?”

Seeing Gu Da’s strong reaction, he suddenly had a bad feeling.

“Stop Moving Forward, it can’t be about running, right?”

This is a divorce variety show. By the way, have you and Lu Yiwei finished your divorce?” Gu Da asked after explaining.

Mu Zhengqing had only mentioned that he and Lu Yiwei would get divorced after some time, but he didn’t specify how long that would be, leaving his agent unaware of his marital status.

“You said ‘Stop Moving Forward’ is a divorce variety show?” Mu Zhengqing asked, emphasizing each word.

“That’s right. I don’t know what the production team was thinking. The original ‘Goodbye Lover’ was changed to ‘Stop Moving Forward’. For those who don’t know, they might think it’s a leisurely slow-paced variety show.”

Gu Da didn’t notice his artist’s unusual reaction and explained slowly.

Well, this is worse than running.

“You still haven’t told me if you and Lu Yiwei have divorced. Seriously, what am I thinking? Even if you two got divorced, you wouldn’t participate in a divorce variety show together.” Not hearing Mu Zhengqing’s voice, Gu Da continued speaking.

“Lu Yiwei,” Mu Zhengqing said through gritted teeth.

“Lu Yiwei? What’s wrong with Lu Yiwei? Why do you look so upset?” Gu Da finally noticed something was wrong with his artist.

Mu Zhengqing ignored Gu Da and got up to walk out the door.

“Wait, where are you going? Shoes, you haven’t put on your shoes yet. Where are you going?”

Seeing Mu Zhengqing storming towards the door, Gu Da quickly followed after realizing what was happening.

When he caught up, he saw his artist banging on the door across the hall.

“What did these people do to make you so angry? You go back, and I’ll handle it…”

Before Gu Da could finish his sentence, the door was opened from the inside.

“Lù Yǐngdì(2), why are you here?” Gu Da asked in confusion upon seeing the person who opened the door.

“This is my home,” Lu Yiwei replied, bending down to pick up the slippers behind the door.

Lu Yiwei squatted down and placed the slippers at Mu Zhengqing’s feet and said, “Put on the slippers.”

“I won’t,” Mu Zhengqing said angrily.

“Haha, he’s joking. Quickly put on the slippers and don’t waste good intentions,” Gu Da said, trying to smooth things over as he saw the two of them standing and squatting without moving.

He really didn’t expect that Lu Yiwei lived right across the hall.**

Of course, that wasn’t the most shocking thing. The most shocking thing was that Lu Yiwei actually squatted down to give Mu Zhengqing slippers.

If Lu Yiwei hadn’t been possessed by someone, then…

Alright, he could only think of the possibility that Lu Yiwei had been possessed by someone.

It couldn’t be that Lu Yiwei liked Mu Zhengqing, right? He still preferred to believe that Lu Yiwei had been possessed.

In fact, during their three years of marriage, he could sense that Lu Yiwei was somewhat avoiding Mu Zhengqing.

“Even if you’re angry, don’t joke with your health. The floor is cold and you might catch a cold,” Lu Yiwei said, looking up at Mu Zhengqing.

Lu Yiwei’s gaze made him embarassed so Mu Zhengqing put on the slippers, ignoring Lu Yiwei’s hand.

“Come in and sit down,” Lu Yiwei said after Mu Zhengqing put on the slippers.

“No need, we can talk at the door,” Mu Zhengqing said with a stern face just as Gu Da  was about to step in, making him silently put his foot down.

Gu Da was curious about what Lu Yiwei had done to make Mu Zhengqing so angry. Although “Noble Young Master” was just a nickname given by fans, most of the time he really looked like one. He had never seen Mu Zhengqing this angry in front of others.

“Although the security measures in this community are very good, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Let’s go inside and talk,” Gu Da said, concerned about safety.

“What are you afraid of? It’s going to be known to everyone soon anyway,” Mu Zhengqing glared at Lu Yiwei and said.

“I’m sorry, I should have explained it to you earlier,” Lu Yiwei apologized before Gu Da could ask what he meant.

“This isn’t just a lack of clarity; this is deception. I’m officially informing you that I will not participate in the recording,” Mu Zhengqing said seriously.

“Are you planning to breach the contract?” Lu Yiwei asked, looking at Mu Zhengqing.

“Breach what contract? I didn’t sign a contract with the production team,” Mu Zhengqing said confidently.

He was now very glad he hadn’t signed a contract with the production team; otherwise, he would have to pay a penalty.

But even if he had to pay a penalty, he wouldn’t participate in this variety show .

After all, he was a top star now, and he could afford that amount of money.

“Although you didn’t sign a contract with the production team, we signed a contract earlier,” Lu Yiwei reminded him.

“Our contract states that after recording the variety show , we would get divorced…,” Mu Zhengqing started to say, then realized.

He remembered that the contract stated that he and Lu Yiwei would participate in “Stop Moving Forward” together and then immediately get divorced. If either party breached the contract, they would transfer all their assets to the other party.

The breach of contract here included not only the divorce but also participating in “Stop Moving Forward” together.

If it were just a penalty, he would grit his teeth and pay it, but all his assets…

Even if he had to grind his teeth to dust, he wouldn’t let Lu Yiwei get away with it so easily.

He had underestimated Lu Yiwei. To get him to participate in this variety show, he really put himself on the line.

Author's Note:

Lu Yiwei: As long as I can be with you, I’ll give you my life.
Mu Zhengqing: ……
Gu Da: Such a chūnibyō statement. It's definitely a spirit possession.(3)
