Chapter 19: Do you like Liang Qi?

Lu Yiwei noticed that Mu Zhengqing was acting a bit strange, always secretly watching him. When he looked back, Mu Zhengqing would show a strange expression.

When Lu Yiwei couldn’t help but ask him, he got a mysterious reply, “Don’t worry, I’ll cooperate with you.” [T/N: we stan a good wingman, lmao]

Cooperate…? Cooperate with what? Is it to cooperate with showing affection, or to cooperate with pursuing him?

With this doubt, he accompanied Mu Zhengqing to complete today’s exercise.

Today, he paid close attention to Mu Zhengqing’s physical condition, and stopped in time when he confirmed that he had reached his limit.

After the two finished exercising, it was already past ten o’clock.

According to the schedule given by the program team, they could now go back to their bedroom to shower and sleep.

But today, sleeping was a bit tricky. Whose room to sleep in?

Mu Zhengqing naturally wanted Lu Yiwei to sleep in his room. After all, he sleeps more comfortably in his own territory.

But thinking about Lu Yiwei’s strange habit of recognizing beds... Forget it, he decided to wrong himself a bit.

“Let’s sleep in your room.”
“Let’s sleep in your room,” Mu Zhengqing and Lu Yiwei spoke at the same time.

“Can you sleep in my room?” Mu Zhengqing asked.

He was worried about Lu Yiwei on one hand, and on the other hand, he was afraid that Lu Yiwei might scare him if he sleepwalks.

Although he was brave, when someone suddenly appeared beside his bed in the dead of night, even he, as brave as he was, would get goosebumps.

“Yes.” Lu Yiwei said confidently.

“Aren’t you particular about beds?” Mu Zhengqing whispered, leaning closer to Lu Yiwei.

“Aren’t you?” Lu Yiwei whispered back.

“I am a bit particular about beds, but I don’t have the habit of sleepwalking.” Mu Zhengqing said, glancing at Lu Yiwei.

How did Lu Yiwei know he was particular about beds? He didn’t remember telling him that.

“No matter whose room it is, I can’t sleep at night, so it doesn’t matter where I am.” Lu Yiwei explained.

What he didn’t say was that the reason he couldn’t sleep was because of excitement and anticipation. Sharing a room with someone he liked, even though he knew nothing would happen, was enough to make him too excited to sleep.

Since Lu Yiwei said so, Mu Zhengqing had nothing more to say.

Actually, if he went to Lu Yiwei’s place, he was prepared to stay up all night.

After Lu Yiwei went back and took a shower, he knocked on Mu Zhengqing’s bedroom door.

After entering the room, he consciously placed the pillow and blanket he brought on the sofa, clearly planning to make do on the sofa for the night.

“Are you planning to sleep on the sofa?” Mu Zhengqing asked.

“Yes,” Lu Yiwei replied.

Although he had many thoughts in his mind, knowing that the two of them needed to share a room tonight, he decided to make do on the sofa for the night.

He was both captivated by Mu Zhengqing’s closeness and clearly aware of Mu Zhengqing’s attitude towards him.

The only thing he didn’t understand was the look in Mu Zhengqing’s eyes tonight.

Mu Zhengqing looked at the sofa, then at Lu Yiwei , and finally said, “You sleep on the bed, I’ll sleep on the sofa.”

The sofa in the bedroom wasn’t big to begin with. If Lu Yiwei slept on it for a night, he would definitely feel uncomfortable the next day.

Of course, he was only a little shorter than Lu Yiwei, so he would also feel uncomfortable after a night.

But after all, this was Lu Yiwei’s house. As an outsider, how could he take all the benefits?

“No need, I have something to do tonight. You go to sleep,” Lu Yiwei said, taking the computer from the side.

Only then did Mu Zhengqing notice that besides the pillow and blanket, Lu Yiwei had also brought a computer. He was well-prepared.

Since that was the case, he wouldn’t hold back.

Mu Zhengqing originally thought he would have trouble sleeping tonight, but who knew he would fall asleep in no time.

Sitting on the sofa, Lu Yiwei gently put his computer aside after hearing Mu Zhengqing’s steady breathing.

Actually, he had nothing to do tonight; he brought the computer just to make Mu Zhengqing feel at ease sleeping on the bed.

How nice, although Mu Zhengqing hadn’t fallen for him yet, the distance between them was getting closer.

Just as Lu Yiwei was immersed in the thought of their growing closeness, there was a sudden noise from Mu Zhengqing’s side.

He looked over at Mu Zhengqing and saw, in the faint moonlight, that one of Mu Zhengqing’s legs was sticking out.

The noise just now was probably caused by Mu Zhengqing kicking the blanket.

He hesitated for a moment, then got up and slowly walked towards Mu Zhengqing.

After finally reaching Mu Zhengqing’s bedside, he carefully covered him with the blanket.

He didn’t dare to look at Mu Zhengqing closely because he was afraid he wouldn’t be able to leave.

Just as he was about to turn and leave, he saw Mu Zhengqing suddenly open his eyes.

He didn’t know if he had scared Mu Zhengqing, but he was certainly startled.

He was about to explain when he saw Mu Zhengqing slowly sit up and wave his hand in front of his eyes.

Was he suspecting that he was sleepwalking?

Since that was the case, he might as well go along with it, saving himself the trouble of explaining why he was standing by his bed.

Lu Yiwei stood there for a while, feeling that enough time had passed, and just as he was about to leave, he heard Mu Zhengqing say, “Lu Yiwei.”

Lu Yiwei cooperatively responded with a “hmm.”

He had only heard that people who talk in their sleep would respond to others, but he didn’t know if sleepwalkers did the same. However, when Mu Zhengqing called his name, his mouth responded before his brain could.

Apparently, he wasn’t the only one confusing sleepwalking with sleep talking. Mu Zhengqing did too.

“Lu Yiwei, do you have someone you like?” Mu Zhengqing asked, his eyes shining.

Actually, Mu Zhengqing was also startled when he saw someone standing by his bed, but he quickly calmed down, perhaps because he had anticipated this outcome.

It’s not surprising that he was so curious. It would be a shame not to seize such a rare opportunity.

After all, no matter what he asked, Lu Yiwei wouldn’t remember it the next day.

Hearing Mu Zhengqing’s question, Lu Yiwei hesitated for a second, then nodded.

He had never thought of hiding the fact that he liked Mu Zhengqing.

On the contrary, he wished he could tell everyone that he, Lu Yiwei, liked Mu Zhengqing.

The reason he hadn’t confessed immediately was because he was afraid of scaring Mu Zhengqing.

However, if Mu Zhengqing figured it out himself, he didn’t plan to hide it.

But every time he was about to blurt it out, Mu Zhengqing would change the subject.

He hoped this time would go smoothly, even though Mu Zhengqing thought he was sleepwalking.

“Have I met the person you like?” Mu Zhengqing continued to ask.

“Yes,” Lu Yiwei replied.

“Have I met the person you like?” Mu Zhengqing continued to ask.

“Yes,” Lu Yiwei replied. When looking in the mirror, Lu Yiwei added in his heart.

“Is that person Liang Qi?” Mu Zhengqing asked excitedly.

His guess was about to be confirmed, and he was a bit excited.

Hearing the name Mu Zhengqing mentioned, Lu Yiwei almost couldn’t control his expression and asked uncertainly, “Who do you say I like?”

“Liang Qi, the director of the variety show we’re participating in now,” thinking Lu Yiwei hadn’t heard clearly, Mu Zhengqing quickly explained.

“No, I don’t like him, not at all.” After saying this, Lu Yiwei turned and went back to the sofa.

He was afraid that if he didn’t leave now, he would give himself away.

He liked Liang Qi, what had he done to give Mu Zhengqing this impression? He finally understood the look in Mu Zhengqing’s eyes tonight. So he thought he liked Liang Qi.

What could be more heartbreaking than the person you like thinking you like someone else?

If there was anything worse, it was that he seemed a bit excited about it.

After Mu Zhengqing fell asleep again, Lu Yiwei picked up his phone and sent a message to Liang Qi. “Stay away from me.”

Liang Qi, who had set a special alert for his sponsor, was once again bewildered when he saw the message. What had he done to offend his sponsor?

Could it be because he made them come in last place, or because he arranged for him and Mu Zhengqing to share a room?

This wouldn’t do. He immediately replied to Lu Yiwei, “Emperor Lu, saying ‘stay away from me’ hurts our relationship a lot. Don’t say that in the future.”

Before sending it, Liang Qi read the message again.

“Well, it’s a bit greasy, but greasy is good. If it can make the sponsor daddy forget the unhappy things, he can be even greasier.” [T/N: yass queen, get yo man lmfao!]

Seeing the message from Liang Qi, Lu Yiwei directly put him on the blacklist.

If it weren’t for the fear of needing him in the future, he would have deleted him.

Early the next morning, Mu Zhengqing woke up to find that Lu Yiwei on the sofa was gone.

Regarding this result, Mu Zhengqing found it very normal.

If Lu Yiwei ever woke up later than him, that would be a problem.

Breakfast was still sumptuous, and Mu Zhengqing was very satisfied.

It seemed like Lu Yiwei had something to say.

But now they had the most time, so Mu Zhengqing wasn’t in a hurry to ask. The world is vast, but eating is the most important thing.

Notes:

Honest thought, ML kinda pisses me off. He is in love with MC, but he is going about it in such a creepy, manipulative under-handed way that it’s honestly a big turn-off. The only reason I haven’t dropped it is because he is still more or less a yellow flag, so far. And the MC doesn’t mind or care too deeply about it. His obliviousness saves the story.
